The Japanese war machine thunders across South East Asia. In its path, on the island of New Britain, lies a tiny Catholic mission station,  Vunapope. Here a handful of Australian nurses take refuge with wounded Australian soldiers. Sisters of War is inspired by the true story of two extraordinary Australian women, Lorna Whyte, (now Lorna Johnston) an army nurse and Sister Berenice Twohill,  a Catholic nun from country New South Wales who was stationed at Vunapope. Although they were two very different women, their friendship would survive the perilous events that followed.Sisters of War is adapted from wartime diaries and interviews with Lorna, Sister Berenice and others who witnessed these events. The story of their captivity, their extraordinary courage and their will to prevail has never been told. 详情
